How I Work

My coaching methodology is grounded in two basic approaches: collaborative coaching and cognitive behavioural coaching. Together, they provide a practical framework that resonates strongly with my clients.

I work collaboratively with clients as a thinking partner rather than an expert with answers. Clients bring their experience, judgment and professional context; I bring structure, challenge and perspective. Progress comes through dialogue, reflection and shared analysis, not instruction.

Cognitive behavioural coaching provides the practical framework for that collaboration. It focuses on how patterns of thinking — particularly under pressure — shape behaviour, confidence and decision-making. By examining those patterns clients are able to act with greater clarity and intent.

In my experience, performance issues rarely come from lack of intelligence or effort. They come from habitual ways of interpreting pressure, unexamined assumptions about responsibility or risk and automatic reactions that once helped but now limit effectiveness.

Developing self-knowledge allows you to respond rather than react, exercise judgement rather than seek reassurance, distinguish what you control from what you don’t, and communicate with greater clarity and authority.
